You’ll discover an abundance of shops,restaurants, tavernas, bars and café’s – some having cool and relaxing terraces - situated along the side of the roads leading from the entrance of the village to the beach, so you don’t have to walk far to enjoy them all! You will not find many discos and late night (after 2am)entertainment in Albir, however, Benidorm is only a short taxi ride away at a cost of approx 10 /15euro.
With the impressive Sierra Heleda mountain range looking on, Albir boasts a privileged position along the Blue Flag awarded stretch of azure blue coast. One of the best Views of the Mediterranean can be seen from Albir. The main promenade is called, "Paseo de las Estrellas" (Stars Promenade) As Alfaz del Pí holds an annual national film festival every July. The town decided to copy the Hollywood initiative of laying paving stones along the promenade and dedicating them to national film stars
It’s far enough away from the crowds of Benidorm but still only a short distance by taxi or bus. Or a short stroll into picturesque Altea.
Albir is a relatively recent town shouldering the Moorish settlement of Altea. With it’s long promenade and abundance of shops, there is enough to keep you occupied without it losing it’s cosy village feel. The vibe here is relaxed and many of it’s year-round inhabitants are to be found sipping cafe con leche (coffee) or eating tapas in one of it’s many coffee shops.

If you take a stroll along the charming Paseo de Estrella promenade in the summer months you can browse the engaging little market stalls selling original jewelry, leather goods and souvenirs, or take in the live music and entertainment along the beach front. Or sit and relax and take in the holiday atmosphere..created along the sea front.
In the day, take time out to rent a sun lounger or if you’re feeling energetic, hire a paddle boat and explore the bay. For the more adventurous, a trip up to the Nuestra Señora del Consuelo through the steep cobbled streets of the old town Altea or a bike ride through the charming streets of this ancient town is a must. a short trip out of town takes you to the world-famous Terra Mitica for fast adrenaline-inducing rides, or hang out with the dolphins at Aqualandia.
Either way, if kicking back and watching the world pass by or exploring neighbouring towns, Albir is a perfect place to base yourself and be immersed in this truly wonderful region of Spain.
